Well in Dec I brought a 2003 maxima. Car that I liked, thru credit acceptace the car was financed.

Right when I got it from the dealer I went and got a oil change knowing they did do it I wanted to makes sure myself. That was at 97k. Every 3k I changed the oil and filter. So end of Sept I went to get oil change.

Next thing you know the engine had some tapping noise coming from when I start it, took it to a shop, mech checks old pressure saying its low so I said call the Wynns. He filed a claim , now the car is there till oct 6. I called the shop mech tells me wynns keeps saying they sending a inspector. So I called wynns to find out what's the hold up, they told me they have been calling the shop everyday.

And I had a 3 way call with both to inspect the car. Now oct 16 they still haven't found a way to somehow get to the shop. So I took back the car from the shop. To another shop, on the way driving there the oiil light went from flashing to staying on and black smoke coming from the tailpipe.I stopped and added oil I went to a pay phone and called wynns telling them I am on my way to another shop.

They said fine. Here I am thinking that the other shop before was screwing aroun. As soon as I drive up the ramp into the engine made a loud pop. And started to smoke and shut off.

I was like wtf. So I walked in got the tech. Walking back to the car I see puddle of oil pour like ***. Popped the hood.

Tech said hope you have warranty I said yes, but why he said sir you going to need a engine. Piston broke and coming out . He filed a claim on Monday . They said they will send someone .

Now 3 days gone by the tech calls me requesting me to call wynns and ask thm what the hold up. I called thy said they have been calling the shop for days. Put it this way after couple words of sin they were there in 3 hours. Now they want the tech to take apart the engine to find out whts the problem..

umm hello the piston shaft is sticking out.. duhhh .. let's see what happens. Right now.

Consumer. Report will find out or maybe help me howard from chnnel 7 news make it public ripoff and scam and recommendation of how does a engine work for dummies...

Yes i have fell victim to the Wynn's warranty saga......i have a 2005 ford escape purchase thru credit acceptance, and wynn's is (or shld i say was) my warranty company....i needed a wheel bearing and ball joints replaced.....i call wynn's before taking it to the dealership to see exactly what they covered....they cover the wheel bearing and control arm, now on the ford escape the ball bearing is attach to the control are it sold as 1 unit, wynn's wld not cover the control arm because of the ball baearing being attach so needless to say they denied my claim, and they gave every excuse to not cover my wheel bearing....after talking to wynn's directly force me to dropped them why pay for something thats not working for me...defintly suggest credit acceptance to stop dealing with such a unaccountable company

yES I AM EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING WITH THIS COMPANY WYNN THEY HAD THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALER BREAK IT DOWN SO THEY CAN INSPECT IT AND NOW THEY WANT TO FIX IT WITH A HALF *** WAY THAT WONT LAST. nO THE DEALER DOESNT WANT TO FIX IT EITHER WHICH LEAVES ME WITH NO CAR OR A $1300 BILL AND I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 4 MONTHS AND ONLY DROVE IT 2 MONTHS.

I SUGGEST WE ALL REPORT THEM TO YOUR LOCAL NEWS STATIONS AND THE FTC AND STOP THIS ACTION.

AMAZING HOW SO CALLED REPUTABLE DEALERS CAN RIPP OFF THE PUBLIC AND GET AWAY WITH IT.

I am having the same problem right now. A car I bought one year ago has been sitting on a hoist in the dealership for 3 days waiting on an adjustor to go look at my vehicle. Please include me in if you do every goto channel 7 with your problems.

Just for future reference, the only warranty worth the investment with a vehicle is the one you get when you buy a brand new car. Depending upon your local laws, a dealership does have a short obligation to assure you the car you bought is reliable, if stated in the contract.

Some states are as few as seven days. Any car with close to 100k is subject to failure because you simply do not know how the vehicle was treated prior to your ownership. Buying a car is a risk, and you took that risk. It's how the cycle works.

Any "extended warranty" is subject to legal language that anyone but an attorney will not understand. I guarantee you that no attorneys buy a car with an extended warranty. I am not a dealer, just a consumer. But I was sued over a vehicle I sold privately which allegedly "broke down" the following day.

The buyer sued me and lost after only about fifteen minutes into the process.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, but like I said, the only warranty that is worth having is one on a brand new car. Good luck getting any extended warranty to work for you.
